- Background
- MINDY lysine 48 deubiquitinase 4, also known as MINDY4, is a human gene. MINDY4 (MINDY Lysine 48 Deubiquitinase 4, also designated AQP1, AQP-1, CHIP28, C7orf67, and FAM188B) is a protein coding gene located on human chromosome 7p14.3. The human MINDY4 gene encodes a 757 amino acids protein containing 84372 Da. The MINDY4 protein is broadly expressed in testis, lung and other tissues. The MINDY4 gene is conserved in chimpanzee, dog, cow, mouse, rat, chicken, zebrafish, and frog. 330 organisms have orthologs with human gene MINDY4. MINDY4B is an important paralog of this MINDY4 gene.

- Function
- Downstream effector of TOR signaling pathway involved in osmotic stress response. Could be involved in the control of plant growth and development. Phosphorylates the ribosomal proteins P14, P16 and S6. Functions as a repressor of cell proliferation and required for maintenance of chromosome stability and ploidy levels through the RBR1-E2F pathway.
