(1987)<div>DKW Basal Salts With Macronutrients and Micronutrients is a powdered plant tissue culture medium based on the Driver and Kuniyuki (DKW) formulation. It provides the essential macronutrients and micronutrients required for controlled in vitro plant culture, plant tissue culture and micropropagation. DKW medium is particularly associated with the culture and regeneration of woody plants, including walnut, and can be used in plant biotechnology workflows involving multiple shoot induction, callus-mediated shoot regeneration and plant propagation.</div>

Assay Protocol: Follow the steps below to prepare 1 liter of tissue culture media using DKW media : <ul><li>Take a beaker and add 800 ml of distilled water to it.</li><li>To the water add 5.36 grams of PCT’s DKW Media, 30 grams of sugar, and PPM™ (generally 1-2 ml/L).</li><li>Make up the volume of the media to 1000ml.</li><li>Adjust the pH of the media between 5.4-5.8.</li><li>Add gelling agent (agar 6-8 g/L or gellan gum 3-4 g/L) to the media and keep stirring.</li><li>Autoclave the medium for 20 minutes at 15 psi and 121°C.</li></ul>Your media is ready!

Storage Conditions: Dehydrated plant tissue culture media is hygroscopic and should be protected from sunlight and moisture. Store the prepared medium at 2-8°C away from direct light. Medium should be used before the expiry date. The entire volume of each bottle should be used immediately after opening, or else the unused portion should be stored in desiccators and refrigerated at 2-8°C.
Storage Temperature: Room temperature, unless the medium is prepared. If medium is prepared, store iat 2-8 °C and away from direct light.
Shelf Life: Check the label on the bottle for the expiry date of the product.
Appearance: White to light tan with a homogenous mixture of free-flowing powder.
