About this product

Human Gastric intrinsic factor (GIF) is an intrinsic factor of the eukaryotic cobalamin family. Gastric intrinsic factor is a 44 kDa protein containing 380 amino acid residues. It is secreted from the parietal cells in gastric mucosa. Gastric intrinsic factor plays a major role in absorption and transportation of cobalamin and Cbl. It could form the comprised with Vit.B12 that avoid the destroy of Vit.B12.

Form
The protein was lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution containing 1X PBS, pH 8.0. If you have any concerns or special requirements, please confirm with us.
Reconstitution
Centrifuge at 3000 rpm for 5 mins before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized protein in sterile H2O to a concentration not less than 100 μg/mL and incubate the stock solution at room temperature for at least 20 mins to ensure sufficient re-dissolved. Do Not Vortex! Vigorous shaking may impair the biological activity of the protein.
Molecular Weight
The protein has a calculated MW of 46.23 kDa. The protein migrates as 45 kDa under reducing condition (SDS-PAGE analysis) .
Storage Conditions
Lyophilized protein should be stored at -20°C for 1 year. Upon reconstitution, store at 2°C to 8°C for up to 1 week. Further dilute in a buffer containing a carrier protein or stabilizer (e.g. 0.1% BSA, 10%FBS, 5%HSA or 5% trehalose solution), protein aliquots should be stored at -20°C or -80°C for 3-6 months. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Do you ship this product with dry ice?

Some products, including certain cell lines and biologics, require dry ice for transportation, which carries an additional fee shown clearly in your quotation. Dry ice delivery isn’t always possible to every destination due to transit time or local restrictions, so we check feasibility in advance and you must store the goods at the correct temperature the moment they arrive.

Is this product species cross-reactive?

Cross-reactivity data, based on available testing, is listed under the reactivity section of the datasheet. Contact us if you need reactivity confirmed for a species not listed.

Is there an additional fee for hazardous or dry ice shipping of this product?

Yes, if this product requires dry ice or is classed as hazardous for transport, the additional fee will be explicitly shown in your quotation before you confirm the order, so there are no surprise charges later.
