EvaGreen® Dye, 2000X in DMSO is offered for customers with specialized applications requiring a concentrated dye solution. Note: for most qPCR applications, we recommend our ready-to-use Forget-Me-Not™ EvaGreen® qPCR Master Mixes or EvaGreen® Dye, 20X in water. EvaGreen® dye is a green fluorescent nucleic acid dye with features that make the dye useful for several applications including qPCR and DNA melt curve analysis, real-time monitoring of thermophilic helicase-dependent amplification (tHDA), and capillary gel electrophoresis. The dye is essentially nonfluorescent by itself, but becomes highly fluorescent upon binding to dsDNA. The DNA-bound dye has excitation and emission spectra very close to those of fluorescein (FAM) or SYBR® Green I, making it readily compatible with instruments equipped with the 488 nm argon laser or any visible light excitation with wavelength in the region. EvaGreen® dye is extremely stable both thermally and hydrolytically, providing convenience during routine handling. EvaGreen® dye is nonmutagenic and noncytotoxic because it is impermeable to cell membranes, unlike SYBR® Green I, which enters cell rapidly and is known to be a powerful mutation-enhancer. The unique properties of EvaGreen® dye have made it particularly useful in quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) applications. Compared with the widely used SYBR® Green I, EvaGreen® dye is generally less inhibitory toward PCR and less likely to cause nonspecific amplification. As a result, EvaGreen® dye can be used at a much higher dye concentration than SYBR® Green I, resulting in a high resolution signal for droplet digital PCR, real-time PCR and melt curve analysis. EvaGreen® dye and applications are covered under granted and pending US and international patents.

Key Features

2000X Concentrated Formulation → Highly concentrated EvaGreen® dye in DMSO for specialized applications requiring flexible dye preparation.

High Fluorescence Upon DNA Binding → Essentially non-fluorescent in solution but becomes highly fluorescent when bound to double-stranded DNA.

Low PCR Inhibition → EvaGreen® is generally less inhibitory to PCR than SYBR® Green I, allowing higher dye concentrations in suitable amplification workflows.

High-Sensitivity DNA Detection → Supports strong fluorescence signals for real-time PCR, melt curve analysis and digital PCR applications.

FAM / SYBR® Green I-Compatible Spectrum → DNA-bound EvaGreen® has excitation and emission spectra close to fluorescein (FAM) and SYBR® Green I, supporting compatibility with instruments using appropriate detection channels.

Excellent Stability → EvaGreen® exhibits high thermal and hydrolytic stability, supporting routine laboratory handling.

Suitable for Specialized Applications → Designed for workflows including qPCR, DNA melt curve analysis, tHDA and capillary gel electrophoresis.

Nonmutagenic and Noncytotoxic → EvaGreen® has been reported as nonmutagenic and noncytotoxic based on manufacturer-reported testing.

Assay sensitivity, including the minimum detectable dose, is listed on the datasheet. Kits that are assembled on order typically ship within 2-4 weeks.
Some products, including certain cell lines and biologics, require dry ice for transportation, which carries an additional fee shown clearly in your quotation. Dry ice delivery isn’t always possible to every destination due to transit time or local restrictions, so we check feasibility in advance and you must store the goods at the correct temperature the moment they arrive.
