The leukocyte integrin LFA-1 is a member of a family of heterodimeric receptors that mediate divalent cation-dependent cellular adhesion reactions. LFA-1A binds to domain 1 of an intercellular adhesion molecule (ICAM) on target tissues.

Tumor cells which do not express LFA-1 may have avoided cellular immune-responses such as those carried out by natural killer cells (NK).
